Elite is my all-time favourite! The restaurant is beautiful and full of feeling: I love the stiff white tablecloths. The service is always perfect: dignified yet never fake. The only place in Helsinki where I sometimes tip. In the summer, Elite has a beautiful terrace with a light that filters through the trees. (NB: A favourite of artists and culture figures, Elite was opened in 1932 and renovated in spring 2016, with respect to the original colour and material palette.) Eteläinen Hesperiankatu 22
The small K-market grocery store in the corner of Eerikinkatu and Fredrikinkatu has a semi-secret stash ofindividually packed frozen croissants that are super tasty. I love to get a couple of these and bake them on a Saturday morning.
I think Farang has the best virgin cocktails in Helsinki! Sometimes it's nice to go booze-free.
