GOOD LIFE COFFEE
A small coffee parlour right in the heart of Kallio. Owner Lauri Pipinen only learned to drink coffee at 19 years of age, but his career rise has been steady since: he was named Barista of the Year in 2011. Pipinen himself appreciates simple black coffee. Many visitors praise the avocado toasts here. You can also buy GLC coffee to take home.

The beloved Gran Delicato opened in 2001 at Kalevankatu 34 as a one-room cafe and delicatessen. The founder Kostas and his team worked hard to turn it into an institution with cult status, now catering also at a second cafe since 2014 on Fredrikinkatu in Punavuori. grandelicato.fi
BROOKLYN CAFÉ & BAKERY
From Brooklyn to Helsinki, the Todd sisters Sharron and Brenda opened up their Brooklyn Café in the name of coffee, baking and people. The small coffee shop was quickly filled with love and the authentic New York style cupcakes, bagels and brownies are well worth a visit. Brooklyn Café then opened the Little Brooklyn Café on Korkeavuorenkatu and the Brooklyn Café Aalto at the Aalto University campus in Otaniemi in 2016.

HELSINGIN KAHVIPAAHTIMON PÄIVÄKAHVIBAARI
The complicated name for this Vallila coffee house might make a Finn smile ('the daytime coffee bar of the Helsinki Coffee Roastery' has a certain tongue-in-cheek double meaning for 'daytime coffee' - ask around). A spinoff of the small local roastery, this cafe has an atmosphere that is easy to lounge in for hours. The interior has exciting details, like a work bench as a table and whitewashed walls with odd shelves. Treats for both the mouth and eyes.
Kaffa Roastery was founded in 2007, now selling their coffee blends in shops and cafes around the country. The flagship cafe is housed within the roastery itself in the Punavuori district.
Pursimiehenkatu 29 A
