The new 150 seat club joins the Helsinki scene music first offering its customers a well-rounded musical experience. The first artists booked include top names both Finland and abroad.
The 150 seat club can be modified to suit a wide array of styles and the bookings include top names in a variety of genres. The club first opened its doors to the public on Thursday August 4th when Tuomo & Markus marked the release of their new album with a sold out show. Other acts booked for the fall season include American jazz greats Vijay Iyer Trio and Marcus Strickland's Twi-Life and the Australian avant-garde trio The Necks celebrating their 30th anniversary. Pianist Iiro Rantala will host a three-night ACT Music happening with Cecilie Norby, Victoria Tolstoy, Marius Neset, Lars Danielsson and Ulf Wakenius taking the stage. The American Ken Stringfellow from The Posies will perform with a Finnish band and stars from the classical music world, Romanian violinist Andrei Ionita and Japanese pianist Naoko Sonoda take over G Livelab with a duo performance.
Other already confirmed artists include Jaakko Aukusti, Samae Koskinen, Color Dolor, Frigg, Laura Moisio, Mirel Wagner, Dalindèo, At The Hollow, Aki Rissanen Trio, Särre&Zenger&Tölölab, Avanti!, Töölön ketterä, Pekko Käppi & K:H:H:L, SUN Trio, FiBO Players & Kudsi Erguner, Aili Ikonen, Death Hawks, Hanna Paulsberg Concept and Mimmit performing at a family brunch event. The highly popular club night Klasariklubi will continue at Livelab with Panu Savolainen & Atte Kilpeläinen as the first confirmed act.
The autumn season will also see joint productions with different events, the first confirmed partners being Helsinki Festival and Etnosoi! Festival. In the future, also literature and culinary culture events will be present at G Lively.
