Far from Earth, among the cold stars, a quiet constellation of lost things turns slowly. A curious gaze meets it. Is this a message, or just a trace?

Echoes Through Light-Years is a playful exploration in which artists Alves Ludovico and Mariana Núñez Sánchez invite young explorers to decode a quiet transmission between worlds. Sculptures drift low like lost satellites. A robot roves the room on a lonely quest. Two distant beings attempt to understand each other without a common tongue, relying only on gestures and guesswork.

What would you want to say to a curious other, light-years away? And what might our leftovers say about us, even if we say nothing at all?

The exhibition was created by artists Alves Ludovico and Mariana Núñez Sánchez, curator Isabela Hueara Carneiro, and sound artist Haiyun Yu.

The exhibition was selected for the programme through Annantalo’s open call. During the summer of 2024, 126 applications were submitted, from which Annantalo’s student jury selected three exhibitions for the gallery on the second floor of the building.
