Harriina Räinä: The Other as Matter: Deer, Pine and Cattle

Visual artist Harriina Räinä’s The Other as Matter: Deer, Pine and Cattle consists of carved pine planks and ink that is made of animal glue and soot. The work examines the materiality of art and the meaning of animal-based matter
as a part of an artwork. 

The exhibition is a part of Uniarts Helsinki’s
fourth Research Pavilion, taking place in Hietsun Paviljonki and its surroundings in Helsinki 5 June – 29 August 2021.
