In August, when the nights get darker, it's time to light the floating lanterns. On Hiroshima Day, the 6th of August, the memory of the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki will be respected. By this event, the world of the senselessness of nuclear weapons and the importance of working for peace will be reminded.

The event begins with speeches by vicar Riikka Reina from Kallio Parish and City Council Chairman Fatim Diarra. Music by Harri Saksala & Mikko Helenius-duo and Yuko Takeda.

Opera Amfi Theatre, Hesperianpuisto Park, Töölönlahti Bay

6.8.2022 at 21.00, the floating lanterns will be released at approx. 22.00
