Tony Halme turned himself into a mythical, masculine freestyle wrestling character, the Viking, who made a name for himself in both the ring and the public eye.

The film tells the story of how Tony Halme created the mythical Viking that eventually trapped him. The constant headline celebrity and obsessive pursuit of it were consuming him. Halme’s tough rhetoric marked the beginning of the ascent of the Finns party. Being the voice of the forgotten people and protesting against the ruling elite were the building blocks of Halme's popularity.

Halme and the great popular support that he garnered serve as a good example of a populist figure who comes from outside the political elite and is admired by the masses, and who, as it were, changes the course of politics. In spite of the openly racist statements -– or perhaps because of them – he made the Finnish political climate more polarised than before.
