In 1707, the young Georg Friedrich Händel, who arrived in Rome from Hamburg, absorbed influences from the eternal city and composed there a huge amount of music.
Handel enthusiastically threw himself into the city's musical life, and the composers he met included at least Alessandro and Dominico Scarlatti and Arcangelo Corelli, who, e.g. was the conductor at the first performance of Handel's oratorio Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno (Triumph of Time and Truth) written in the summer of 1707.
This concert will visit the Rome of 1707 and present instrumental music from all the aforementioned composers.
