Det här är ögonblicket

In Tze Yeung Ho's miniature opera Det här är ögonblicket and the accompanying Mellanspel by Dante Thelestam, gives a glimpse into the recesses of the human mind and the spaces between mind and consciousness when a person contemplates death. 

What all can fit in the blink of an eye, what was left unsaid as the end approaches, what questions were never answered, what words and feelings were left hanging loose without ever getting there. Heidi von Wright's poetic libretto unfolds in the work as subconscious wishes, requests and observations about both oneself and the surrounding world.

When you combine the accordion players Sini Ström and Sonja Vertainen and the sovereign sopranos Linnea Sundfaer Casserly and Johanna Nylund, as well as Suvi Kajas's surrealist costume design, you get on a waking dream-like journey to the borderlands of twilight to reflect on the essence of humanity in the face of death.
