There are many kinds of seasons. The idea of this exhibition is to examine the time between seasons, a period familiar to every one of us, where we sometimes get stuck. Loneliness, old age, illness or unemployment, among other things, may lead to a life with only a few seasons. Life between the seasons may consist of endless waiting for someone to visit or oppressive weeks with nothing to do. However, it may also be a peaceful time to recharge batteries for the next season.

We have filmed between the seasons with film cameras and prepared the silver gelatine pictures in the darkroom. Film and silver are no longer mainstream in the digital age, but traditional methods are topical and expressive in artistic endeavours. The method reflects the message of the exhibition: things happen during seasons, but there is also life outside the seasons.

The exhibition is open during Stoa’s opening hours.
