In honour of the Paris Olympic Games and International Women's Rights Day, the French Institute is organizing a photo exhibition of the position of women at the Olympic Games throughout history.
Les Elles des Jeux (Women of the Games) photo exhibition presents the journey of women in the history of the Olympics, from a complete ban on participation to the fight for equality.
Leading pioneers such as Alice Milliat, who founded the Women's Olympic Games in 1922, both French and international sports big names such as Christine Caron, Marie-José Pérec, Laure Manaudou or more recent stars such as Clarisse Agbegnenou and Simone Biles belong to this 130-year-long journey.
