Lyran & Akademens Christmas Concerts 2023

The choirs Akademiska Damkören Lyran & Akademiska Sångföreningen invite you to an evening of musical enchantment and Christmas joy. This year they have put together a repertoire that will warm your heart and fill you with peace conducted by Riku Laurikka and Elisa Huovinen, and featuring the talented soloist Timo Alakotila.

What makes these concerts unique is Timo Alakotila's magical improvisations, influenced by jazz and folk music. The concerts will also take you through a musical journey through time, from timeless classical music by composers such as Michael Praetorius, Thomas Tallis and Guillaume Machaut to contemporary masterpieces such as Galina Grigorieva's "Alleluia," Rihard Dubra's "Adoramus Te" and Morten Lauridsen's choral classic "O magnum mysterium."
