SEA LIFE's exhibition section focused on marine conservation, the Conservation cove, has received a makeover.

The themes and activities at the renewed Conservation cove will particularly focus on SEA LIFE Helsinki's local efforts, such as oil spill response and species conservation, as well as the global marine conservation work of the SEA LIFE Trust.

The Conservation cove is home to the highly endangered San Ingacio pupfish which now only exists in one small spring in Mexico. SEA LIFE Helsinki has actively participated in the protection and breeding of these unique little fish to prevent their extinction. The Conservation cove also features a tank with rescued and confiscated fish.

SEA LIFE

1.-9.6.2024

SEA LIFE will be celebrating the renovation of the Conservation Island June 1-9, as well as World Oceans Day on June 8. This day aims to remind of the immense importance of oceans to the entire ecosystem and to highlight how we can contribute to their conservation. World Oceans Day encourages everybody to engage in marine protection efforts and to appreciate their vital role in the well-being of the Earth.

In May, employees of SEA LIFE Helsinki collected trash from the neighbourhood and their commutes. Together, they created an artwork from the collected trash, which will be also on display. Come see which animal has been choden as the inspiration for the artwork!
