Rebekka Bakken & UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra + Manu Katché Scope – Savoy JAZZFest 2.-6.3.2022

The festival’s Friday programme will begin with a performance by UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and the Norwegian vocalist Rebekka Bakken. Bakken is a versatile singer-songwriter who plays with genres and seeks inspiration from the worlds of jazz, pop, R&B and rock. Bakken’s impressive range can easily leap over three octaves and her electric style of performing captivates audiences who cannot get enough of the sensitive and entertaining show. In the concert, Bakken will join the big band to perform songs by Tom Waits.

In the latter half of the two-part evening, Savoy Theatre will house the French drummer Manu Katché. Katché is one of the most esteemed session drummers in the world. He is known for playing in many tour bands and on the records of Sting, Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel and several other world stars. Katché will perform in SavoyJAZZ Fest together with his quartet Scope, the members of which are bassist Jérôme Regard, guitarist Patrick Manouguian and keyboardist Jim Henderson.

The duration of the concert is about 2.5 h, incl. interval.

The age limit for the seats in the stalls is 18 years old, but the balcony is open for all ages.
