Hanami, or "flower viewing," is Japan's most important festival, and at Roihuvuori Kirsikkapuisto (Cherry Park) Hanami has been celebrated since 2007.

The first cherry blossoms of the spring have already bloomed in the park. A total of approximately 350 cherry trees bloom in Roihuvuori Cherry Park, creating a stunning and atmospheric setting for the festivities.

The program includes dance performances, calligraphy art, tea ceremonies, and music. There will be a wider variety of Japanese delicacies available, including onigiri, takoyaki, and Japanese obanyaki pancakes, with a total of 15 different food vendors on site.

Additionally, the event will feature the selection of cherry blossom princess and queen to serve as goodwill ambassadors between Finland and Japan.

The Hanami festival week has already begun in Roihuvuori on May 5th, with the hanging of koinobori, or carp streamers, over the iris pond in the Cherry Park. The week's program includes the Yozakura event on Wednesday, May 8th, starting at 7 pm at the Roihuvuori Hard Rock House bar .
