Roosa Tervapuro: Memories From Tokyo

"The roots of my exhibition go back to Tokyo's lively culture and especially its delicious food world. My experiences during the exchange studies deepened not only academic challenges, but also awakened a passion to draw and record my experiences of culture and traditional food dishes. My exhibition invites you on a trip to Japan to the world of flavors, colors and atmosphere. 

My illustrations reflect not only the deliciousness of the food, but also the diversity of Japanese culture that I experienced every day. Each illustration tells a story about my memories of food, culture and surrounding objects that made my exchange studies unforgettable. You can feel the refined beauty of sushi, the deep taste of Ramen and the crispiness of Tempura. 

However, this exhibition is not only limited to food. It also offers a view of Japanese everyday life, traditional ceremonies and the pulse of the modern city. Each piece is like a time capsule that opens a window to the moment when I sat in a small restaurant, watched the bustle of the city or got to know traditional onsen baths. "Memories From Tokyo" is my personal journey into the heart of Japanese culture. I hope that my exhibition evokes similar feelings and memories in the viewers as I have.
