1 September 2004 was the day singer-songwriter Samuli Putro released his first solo song. It was called Täysikasvuinen and was a commissioned piece for Aleksi Salmenperä’s film Lapsia ja aikuisia.
“Zen Cafe’s soloist is still not planning to go solo, but the band is currently working in the studio and will be releasing new material during the autumn,” wrote the newspaper Kaleva at the time.
It turned out otherwise, and now, almost exactly twenty years later, Putro is celebrating his solo career in the Huvila tent at the Helsinki Festival.
The concert on 17 August 2024 is called Täysikasvuinen, Samuli Putro’s 20th anniversary concert. It will be the singer-songwriter’s debut in Huvila.
The concert, with its changing line-up, will be a cross-section of Putro’s career, from the song Elämä on juhla to the latest hits from the album Ikävä mummoa.
Putro will be touring in 2024 with discretion. The 10 + 10 = 20 tour, starting in spring, will include ten club dates and ten festival appearances. The tour will culminate in a special concert at Huvila.
