What does it mean to be a “self” in the 21st century? This is the question at the core of British-Japanese artist Simon Fujiwara’s work. 

His exhibition It’s a Small World features key works from the full span of the artist’s career, including his latest project, Who the Bær. As they search for their “true” identity, the lovable cartoon bear morphs effortlessly into various art styles, people, and objects – such as an Aalto vase or Marimekko’s Unikko print pattern.
