Ylioppilaskunnan Soittajat (Helsinki University Symphony Orchestra or YS) is a full-sized symphony orchestra, which gives concerts, organizes balls and takes part in various academic festivities. 

The orchestra was founded in 1926, but it carries on the traditions of the Academic Orchestra (founded in Turku already in 1747) as its immediate successor.  

This year Ylioppilaskunnan Soittajat is celebrating its 95th anniversary by organising a concert at Helsinki University.  

The concert is conducted by Andres Kaljuste. Solist is Kalle Hakosalo.
