Mar 10 – Apr 10, 2026

Liszt Institute

Kaisaniemenkatu 10, 00100 Helsinki

Anna Kubinyi (1949–2015), internationally renowned Hungarian textile artist, pioneering figure of fiber art. Her experimental practice combined traditional textile art with a unique, three-dimensional technique. Her oeuvre was honoured with Hungary’s most prestigious awards, including the Kossuth Prize and the Prima Primissima Award.

Anna Kubinyi’s works have been exhibited throughout Europe; her most significant international presentation took place in Calcutta at the Victoria Memorial Hall, attracting several hundred thousand visitors. How did the Hungarian artist’s work find its way to India? How is a three-dimensional textile created? These questions — and other personal insights — will be explored at the opening.

The opening will be held by Adrienn Kubinyi, the artist’s daughter and curator of the selection.
