Driving Madeleine is a journey through memories and some of the landmarks of pivotal events in Paris.

Charles (Dany Boon), a taxi driver plagued by worries, takes a seemingly lucrative trip from one side of Paris to the other. It soon becomes clear that 92-year-old Madeleine is on her way to a retirement home, but first wants to take a leisurely drive through some memorable places.

First loves, a heated divorce, radical struggles for women’s rights and a turbulent history all come together in Madeleine’s story. The titular role is played by veteran actress Line Renaud, known for her duet with Dean Martin in “Relaxez-vous”. “Smiling makes you young” reflects Madeleine’s attitude towards life. During the car journey, the pair become friends in a way that changes both of their lives.
