Legendary guitarist Ben Granfelt is releasing his 21st studio album, It’s Personal, and is celebrating the event with gigs in Finland and Germany.

This piece is a rare double album; a combination of a studio recording and a live album. The studio album is an instrumental recording, which has been requested from Granfelt for a long time. It’s a collection of beautiful melodies, riffs and – naturally – guitar solos.

“We recorded the baselines live with Masa Maijanen (bass) and Jari Salminen (drums) in a large room, and then I locked myself into a tiny studio to record the guitar parts and create the sounds.
I think that the end result is great and personal, and I’m proud of it.”

The live recordings of the double album include both singing and instrumental songs. The band clearly loves playing together.

The album was recorded during their Gratitude tour in 2024.
“We want to create our songs anew when we play them live. It was interesting to listen to the very different versions and difficult to choose which to include on our live album.”

Ben and his band tour Finland in the summer to present their new double album, and will continue with a tour in Germany in the autumn
