Nov 17, 2025 | 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm
Kaisaniemenkatu 10, 00100 Helsinki
Marionettes Around the World is a multi-award-winning one-man show that has traveled across the globe — from Egypt to Australia, from India to South Korea, and from Colombia to Canada.
Hungary’s only internationally renowned marionette master, Bence Sarkadi, has enchanted audiences of all ages around the world — from major street festival stages to small-town street corners — with his handmade, self-carved marionettes.
He is the first and only Hungarian puppeteer ever to perform in the competition program of the world’s most prestigious puppet theatre festival, the Charleville International Puppet Festival, with two of his shows, and the following year he was invited back as a guest performer.
Bence Sarkadi is an internationally acclaimed marionette master and teacher at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette in Charleville-Mézières. He began working with marionettes in 1999 and has been touring the world with his solo performances since 2007.
