The exhibition consists of 16 paintings inspired by women who have moved to Finland from different countries.

In addition, the subject of one of the paintings is a young native Finnish woman. All paintings are oil paintings.

Women of the World in Finland is an art project created by sisters Carolina Mac-Iver and Lilian Mac-Iver. The idea was born approximately 15 years ago as they moved to Finland. In Finland, they became acquainted with women from different countries and their cultures.

“Behind every painting is the story of an immigrant. A story of their love for their native country and a story of their new homeland. We wanted to capture the stories of these women who created a new life and family in this beautiful northern country.

Through the colours of this collection, we intend to demonstrate the impact of the love of these women and the beauty of their roots on multicultural Finland. The project is implemented in their honour.”
