Dalindèo – Kallio and beyond

Dec 3, 2025 | 7:00 pm

Savoy Theatre

Kasarmikatu 46-48, 00130 Helsinki

The cult band Dalindèo has been around for more than twenty years and has established itself as one of the most important Finnish jazz bands. Led by composer-guitarist Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen, the ensemble has performed at almost all Finnish festivals and concert halls, as well as in more than 12 European countries and Morocco.

The band’s first release, Poseidon/Solifer-Lento, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025. The band’s first records were released under the Helsinki-based Ricky-Tick Records label, and since 2013 their music has been released by Suomen Musiikki and London-based BBE Records.

The ‘Kallio’ album, released in 2013, made Dalindèo extraordinarily popular around the country and the band performed widely also outside the jazz scene. The album won the Jazz Emma of the Year award and Pöyhönen’s compositions were nominated for the Teosto prize. The album is considered a classic of Finnish jazz.

On Dalindèo’s Kallio and beyond anniversary tour, the band will perform a cross-section of songs from their six albums, ranging from their Open Scenes album of 2007 to their latest album Tropicalia Nordica, released in 2024, naturally without forgetting the favourite songs from the Kallio album.

Dalindèo’s line-up has remained the same since 2004 and their shared performances have a unique magic that is only born from hundreds of shared gigs and thousands of kilometres.
