Welcome to a peaceful Advent Concert featuring piano music and the quiet, candlelit atmosphere by pianist Dávid Szilasi at the Liszt Institute.

Pianist and fortepianist Dávid Szilasi (b. 1997) completed his master’s degree in 2021 with the highest distinction at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. 

He is currently studying at the Sibelius Academy under Professor Tuija Hakkila.

Among his many competition successes, particularly notable are the Bence Szabolcsi Anniversary Piano Competition (first prize, Budapest), the Nyíregyháza Piano Competition (first prize and the Jenő Sára Prize), and the Liszt Festival and Piano Competition in Budapest (first prize). 

As a soloist, he has collaborated with numerous Hungarian and international orchestras. Recently, he has performed at the Helsinki Music Centre and the Strasbourg Conservatory. 

He made his debut in Finland in autumn 2022, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto in C minor with Sakari Oramo’s Kapubändi Orchestra.
