The versatile and acclaimed artists Emma Salokoski & Jarmo Saari released the polished and stylish album Viileässä virrassa in the spring of 2023.

The songs on the album consist of completely new songs, as well as open-minded rearrangements and a few evergreen favourites. The concert will feature Emma’s bright vocals underpinned by the rich and colourful playing of guitarist Jarmo Saari. Together, these musical multi-talents are more than the sum of their parts!

Singer Emma Salokoski is known for her amazing voice and sensitive interpretative skills. She is one of Finland’s most prominent performers, and her varied musical career has involved numerous projects with different ensembles and several album releases. Salokoski has performed as a soloist in symphony orchestras as well as at major rock festivals. Her latest solo album, Kiellettyjä asoita, was released in October 2015. Emma Salokoski Ensemble, Emma Salokoski & Ilmiliekki and the vocal ensembles Emma Salokoski Voices and Aito Collective are among her best-known projects. Salokoski’s much-loved songs are given a new expression in recent duo arrangements, which include influences from Finnish nature and many rhythm styles from around the world.

The other member of the duo, Jarmo Saari, is one of the most unique guitarists of his generation. He is known for his visual compositional style, which ranges from concerts to film, television, choreography, theatre and recordings. Saari creates multidimensional sound collages using guitars, human voices and a variety of rare instruments, such as the theremin, baroque cello and glass harp.
