Musiikkitalo – Helsinki Music Centre

Mannerheimintie 13a, 00100 Helsinki

FRSO & Nicholas Collon & Edgar Moreau

“Free but Happy” was the motto that Brahms encoded into his Third Symphony, and from storm-swept opening to final sunset, it’s the music of a composer who was unafraid to speak from the heart.

Hans Abrahamsen’s new masterpiece (his first purely orchestral work since 1981) sets the elements against silence itself, and Nicholas Collon and cellist Edgar Moreau plays the tempestuous concerto that Korngold wrote for a Hollywood thriller – live, and large as life.
