Annankatu 30, 00100 Helsinki

The life of a lonely mountain is transformed in a revolutionary way when it hears the beautiful song of a little bird above it.

However, the common journey sometimes ends as, unlike the mountains, birds are not forever. However, the bird has brought the mountain a joy of life that will not disappear.

The show is about the most important topic in the world – love – in a language that children can understand through symbols.

In this version, Alice Maclerran’s beloved fairy tale about the friendship between a lonely mountain and a bird that ends up on the mountain during migration makes use of the fascinating shadow theatre. The atmosphere of this visually diverse performance is accompanied by music composed by Aino Lehtovaara.

The story opens a platform for children and adults to talk about death in a naturally safe manner. It is not a foreign topic to a child, even though we adults like to keep quiet about it. In the background, you can also perceive the environmental theme as a quiet undertone, although it is not underlined in the show. There is no shadow without light, and in this performance, the tones are colourful and root for joy, life and love!
