Dänkki Briha is an etno-futuristic banger machine that seeks inspiration from Ingrian-Karelian-Finnish folk culture, myths and urban aesthetics.

It merges theatrical expression with ancient rhymes and futuristic soundscapes.

The timeless vocals by Juho Liira, the delicate electronic violin of Matias Kontula and the experimental production by Manu Penttilä create the exciting sound of this Lappeenranta and Helsinki-based folktronica band that makes an impact both live and on record.

The band’s psychedelic and folk-romantic debut album, ‘Viipurin Kingpin’, was released in June 2024 through Sick Boogie Recordings. The new EP, ‘Future Kantele Hiisi Master’, was released in April 2025, and the next LP, under the working name ‘Electric Vepsänmaa’, will be released in late 2025.
