‘Matka maailman ympäri’ is a Finnish rock group founded by Miro Palokallio, Saara ‘Sape’ Niemelä and Aarni Palokallio in late summer 2017.
Their critically acclaimed debut album Kolme was released in summer 2018. Soundi gave the album 4/5 stars and HS called the album a convincing entity. Singles from the album, Ei mikään palaa ennalleen and Älä soita mulle tänä iltana, have had plenty of radio play on Radio Suomi, Suomirock and YleX, to name a few.
The group released their second album in spring 2020 with the apt name Toinen (second). In addition to familiar themes of interpersonal relationships, the songs on the album discuss the climate disaster, life in a post-apocalyptic world and hope for a second chance on another planet.
The single Jotenkin näin from the album Toinen was the most played song on Radio Suomi in July 2019. The song has been streamed more than 460,000 times on Spotify.
The band are currently preparing their third album. The single Turvaan kaikelta from the album has already been streamed more than 420,000 times on Spotify.
