Kampin Laulu Chamber Choir: Rakastava

Nov 20, 2025 | 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

House of Nobility (Ritarihuone)

Ritarikatu 1, 00170 Helsinki

Conducted by Saara Aittakumpu, Kampin Laulu Chamber Choir presents fresh interpretations of choral classics from the Romantic era, including Sibelius’s Rakastava Op. 14, Brahms’s Fünf Gesänge Op. 104, and Elgar’s My love dwelt in a northern land Op. 18 No. 3.

The concert also features Armahan kulku, a piece composed by Tapani Länsiö for Kampin Laulu in 2002, in which the text from the Kanteletar — familiar from Sibelius’s Rakastava (Lover) — is given a new, pulsating rhythmic setting.

In addition, the program includes Bara du går över markerna by Swedish composer Karin Rehnqvist, Unsere Liebe, a song cycle based on love poems by Lassi Nummi from Einojuhani Rautavaara’s extensive choral repertoire, and the wistfully beautiful Sommarnatten, inspired by a folk tune.
