What do songs of loneliness sound like?

The work Soledad – Yksinolla embraces the Finnish and Spanish landscapes of the soul and faces loneliness with joy, rage and love.

Soledad – Yksinolla opens up the different layers of loneliness and dives into its bittersweet longing through Spanish flamenco traditions, jazz and traditional African music. The performance brings the melodies and polyrhythms of flamenco together with live music, musicians equipped with loopers and dancers.

The award-winning dancer and choreographer Katja Lundén and multi-talented singer and dancer Janne Marja-aho will take over the stage, along with the fantastic musicians Janne Halonen, Taija Robalta (Taija Tyrväinen) ja Tony de Maria (Toni Jokiniitty).

This piece is a continuance to Katja Lundén’s and Janne Marja-aho’s highly praised duet Encuentro – Kohtaaminen, which premiered in Musiikkitalo in 2023.
