Normaalii (Average) tells the story of four young modern Finns who are also second-generation immigrants, living in the suburbs of Eastern Helsinki.

Ali, Nedim, Shahin and Flamur are old friends whose paths have gone in different directions. The film is a crime thriller with some elements of comedy and drama. It explores topics such as gang forming, life in the suburbs and what it means to be Finnish today.

Eastern Helsinki and its community joined forces to make this feature indie film possible. Normaalii is the truthful and genuine result of these efforts, made by the people the film is about – without the messy middlemen.
