Marjo Leinonen & The Bublicans are a raucous funk band that devoutly bangs out all the blue shades of soul!

The band converts people from apathy to rhythmic ecstasy with their life-flavoured message of joy. Instead of the bass guitar, low frequencies are created with the rumble of the sousaphone, i.e. tuba (Ville Niemelä), taking the atmosphere straight to New Orleans.

Bublicans is Marjo Leinonen’s latest line-up and continues the luscious canon of soul rock, a diverse terrain in which Leinonen has operated with an undisputedly distinctive and breathtaking style throughout her 30 years as a singer. “Close your eyes and open your mouth! It’s time for bubbles,” quips Leinonen, as in addition to Ville, rhythmic fireworks will be provided by Risto Kumpulainen (keyboards), Petri Kautto (guitar) and Sami Vettenranta (drums).
