The 100th anniversary of Kantele artist Martti Pokela’s birth was celebrated in February 2024. To honor their grandfather’s rich musical legacy, Pokela’s grandchildren – Soila, Jyri, and Petteri Sariola – joined forces and released their Pokela album, featuring new music, on Father’s Day and Martti’s  name day, December 10. 

Martti Pokela (1924–2007) was born in Haapavesi and spent his final days in his Helsinki apartment, Tuulantei. This inspired the name of the band Tuulentei, which also echoes Martti Pokela’s Tuulikumpu album from the 1960s. Tuulentei Trio will perform in Artist’s Home Lallukka on 9 March, 2025
