Mikael Alanko: Under Pressure

Mar 5 – 29, 2025

Elielinaukio 2, Sanomatalo 1. krs, 00100 Helsinki

Mikael Alanko has graduated as a visual artisan in 2022 from the Education Center Salpaus. Despite his young age, Alanko has already had time to participate in many joint exhibitions, perhaps the most important of which is Generation 2020 at Amos Rex.

Mikael Alanko is a very wide-ranging artist and is interested in two- and three-dimensional work as well as animations. Alanko’s works are powerful and often suggestive. He has been a member of the Lahti artists’ club since 2024.

“I think that the world is not changed by violence but by fighting against evil. At the same time that atheism and Buddhism debate, while respecting each other’s views, about the philosophical question of God’s existence, my answer and my guide to life is philosophy.”

“I escape reality into a fantasy world. In a way, I want to understand myself. I like metal music. I create a world of culture and mythology. I read military history. Music and history inspire me.” – Mikael Alanko
