Minttu Hellstén is a new name in the field of darker, intimate art pop.

Her music is a rare and striking combination of organic and synthetic worlds that speaks to the depths of one’s mind and where the deep tones of bass meet with honest vulnerability and the sound of a pump organ. Minttu was born in Elimäki, in the middle of vast fields, and her journey finally took her to East Helsinki where she focuses on creating strong worlds and ambiences.

Her music has been described as visual and cathartic, a unique sound that embraces its audience. Hellstén’s songs intertwine in unique ways with world-class dark-toned electronic productions that know their roots, implemented by Hellstén together with Tomi Hyyppä.

Hyyppä is known from the internationally acclaimed electropop duo Villa Nah. The highly praised debut album, Hiipivä, pimeä hiljaisuus, was released in spring 2024. The album’s songs have climbed to the Spotify Editorial playlists and have been played on radio channels from Radio Helsinki to Yle Radio Suomi.
