Äidin sydän – The Lauttasaari Music Festival’s Mother’s Day Concert

The Lauttasaari Music Festival celebrates Mother’s Day with the Äidin sydän (Mother’s Heart) concert, featuring some of Finland’s top artists. 

The most beautiful chamber music of spring will be performed by soprano Emma Kajander, winner of the Lappeenranta Singing Competition, saxophonist Jukka Perko, baritone Esa Ruuttunen, and leading Finnish chamber musicians, cellist Marko Ylönen and clarinetist Tuulia Ylönen.

The diverse program of the concert includes solo songs by Sibelius and Merikanto, as well as other beloved chamber music pieces, from Järnefelt’s Berceuse to Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise. The concert culminates in an Aria from Bachianas Brasileiras, composed by Villa-Lobos for eight cellos and soprano.

The Lauttasaari Music Festival is a chamber music festival founded in 2023 and held annually in mid-June.
