Näkymättömät naapurit (Invisible neighbours) – interspecific evening with Eliökollektiivi

The Eliökollektiivi performance art collective will give a two-hour performance consisting of three short pieces that explore and create connections to our close neighbours of other species.

17.00 Walking performance ‘Rajatapaukset’
Start from the Kanneltalo steps. The walking tour tries to find signs of urban residents of other species and explores the neighbourly relationships between people and other animals. The tour is guided by performing artists Maija Linturi and Camilla Anderzén. Duration: 30–40 minutes

17.50 Audio work ‘Toisia ääniä’
In her audio work, Aino Juutilainen researches the sounds of the animals in Kannelmäki.
Duration: approximately 10 minutes.
Location: Multi-purpose room Tempo, Kannelmäki Library.

18.00 Essay film ‘Hyönteiskuvitelmia’
‘Hyönteiskuvitelmia’ (Insect fantasy) is an essay film about nature documentaries and the production of nature photographs from a personal viewpoint. The film, shot on an organic farm in southern Finland, follows the director’s journey from an aspiring nature photographer to a mystic looking for the connection between species.

Duration: 18 minutes.

18.20 Presentation of the Eliökollektiivi collective and discussion

Free entry to all performances. Small snacks will be served.

The event is hosted by the Eliökollektiivi performance art collective in cooperation with the Kannelmäki Library and cultural services.

The first public performance of Vieraat (Guests) by Eliökollektiivi will be in Kanneltalo on 4 October 2025
