Minervankatu 6, 00100 Helsinki
The Night of the Organs has been organised by the Hungarian Philharmonia (Filharmónia Magyarország) for many years with great success and is becoming more and more popular every year.
Since last year, the event has become international: this year the organisers come from six continents and 30 countries. In addition to the Hungarian organisers, a total of 38 international concert venues are celebrating the organ, the “queen of instruments”.
Marosvári was born in Székesfehérvár and graduated in organ and voice from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. In a career spanning more than forty years, he has performed in almost all European countries, as well as in Japan, South Korea, Israel and Uruguay. He is currently organist at Oulu Cathedral.
The concert will feature works by well-known composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi. The programme also includes the Toccata Fantasia Festival, composed by Rezső Ott at the request of the Hungarian Philharmonic Orchestra and performed at hundreds of concerts on the Night of the Organ around the world.
