OMBRE ZION was born in Pikine, a suburb of Dakar, Senegal. He grew up in a family of music lovers who listened to a lot of reggae. Drawn to Ragga Muffin from an early age, he began by covering Jamaican hits of the time and quickly developed his skills in singing and toasting.

He started his artistic journey in middle school with two of his friends, forming the group SKM in 1998. In 2005, he turned his focus toward a solo career, making his debut performances. Ombre Zion is an eclectic singer who works across various genres, including reggae, dancehall, afrobeat, soul, R&B, hip-hop, and traditional Senegalese music. His unique style has earned him numerous collaborations both in Senegal and internationally.

He has shared the stage with major artists such as Stromae, Tabou Combo, Morgan Heritage, Julian Marley, Mutabaruka, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Youssou N’Dour.. Notably, he contributed as a co-writer to the song “Wax Ju Bari” on Youssou N’Dour’s latest album “Mbalax.”

Having performed on major stages across Africa, Europe, and Canada, Ombre Zion is now based in Finland and is backed by the Finnish band The Riddiments. Together, they deliver powerful performances, cementing their place as a must-see act in the reggae scene.

The Riddiments are a reggae band based in Helsinki, Finland. Their paths crossed for the first time during a gig in Finland by Jamaican reggae star Luciano. Charlotta was one of the background singers, and members from The Riddiments played in Luciano’s live band. Inspired by the fantastic performance, they formed Charlotta Curves & The Riddiments.
The Riddiments perform with deep experience and groove. The band members have played in live bands for international reggae stars such as Luciano, Peetah Morgan, and Anthony B during their gigs in Finland. They also perform in many local lineups, including Jukka Poika’s live band, The Capital Beat, Punky Reggae Band, and Liljan Loisto.

With Ombre Zion’s unique voice and the immense energy the Riddiments bring to the stage, they have become a force to be reckoned with a group not to be missed!
