Open Studio at Udumbara Ceramics (19 Apr 2025)

Apr 19, 2025 | 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Kaarlenkatu 15, 00530 Helsinki

This year’s theme: Nordic heritage geraniums – Udumbara is developing handcrafted, breathable Kultela clay pots designed especially for them.

Udumbara is a ceramics studio located in Kallio district, Helsinki, where they create handmade flower pots and lamps using native clay and honouring craftsmanship.

This spring, Udumbara is celebrating Nordic heritage geraniums – plants with a long history in Finnish homes and gardens. The ceramics studio is currently designing classic planter pots for geraniums, which provide ideal growing conditions and support plant health naturally.

Now, it is your chance to be part of the process, share your thoughts, and help to shape the perfect geranium planter!

During the Open Studio, you can:

Explore Udumbara Studio and their work
See their handcrafted ceramics and hear the story behind them
Discuss local materials and craftsmanship
Experience a creative space where clay comes to life

The event is open to everyone interested in clay, crafts, and plants. If you’ve ever wondered how pottery is made on the wheel or want to learn more about Finnish wild clay, this is a great opportunity to ask and discover more!
