The clown duo Secret (Amira Khalifa) and TikTak (Nora Raikamo) want to blow everyone’s minds in the musical scene.

With the unfulfilled dreams of their youth and all the musical roles they have missed out on during their careers in mind, they decide to work together with clown musician Delta Airwaves (Jussu Pöyhönen) to create the perfect musical, which is Delta’s dream composition.

As the clowns clamber towards theatre heaven, they inevitably slip towards the confines of their earthly prisons. How can you aim for perfection when your legs no longer stretch into the splits or reach your ears? The clowns are faced with the brutal fact that the body decays and life does not go on forever. Are they finally at the point where the direction is taken downwards, towards abandonment and death, towards the underworld?

On their perfect journey, our clown trio seeks guidance from both the feats of the mother of Lemminkäinen and the myth of the Sumerian goddess of love and war, Inanna, descending into the underworld. Their only option is to sing their inner feelings out loud and dance their body’s limits into view. After all, they have nothing left to lose but humour.

‘Täydellinen musikaali – matka manalaan’ (A perfect musical – the journey to the underworld) is a Finnish premiere. Secret and TikTak have already captivated audiences with their previous enlightenment-seeking performance, ‘Mieletön’ (Mindless).
