Road to Judecca is a solo performance that explores the illuminating and blinding power of belief. In a church hall in rural America, a young preacher recounts the fall of a man who believed himself to be the second coming of Christ. As we delve deeper into the story, we must ask: how far are we willing to go in the name of salvation?

A poetic and urgent monologue about faith, charismatic leadership and the stories people tell themselves to make sense of their lives. 

Written and performed by Nicholas Alder, Road to Judecca premiered in London in 2024 and now arrives in Finland as part of a four-country European tour by Voler Theater Collective.

Nicholas Alder (formerly Niko Lepistö) is a Finnish actor who has been based in the UK since 2021, working in London and Birmingham. 

His previous work includes Some Voices (Old Rep Theatre, Birmingham), Welcome to Thebes (Blue Orange Theatre, Birmingham) and Melting (Old Red Lion Theatre, London). 

He is a founding member of Voler Theater Collective together with poet Francis de Lima (formerly North) and director Sophia Golani.
