Mosaiikkitori 2, 00980 Helsinki
On the Roma National Day, PhD Kimmo Granqvist will give a lecture on the Roma language at Vuotalo.
Romani is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by at least four million people around the world. It is largely unknown to many Finns, although it has been spoken in Finland for 500 years. Today, it is a severely endangered language in Finland, but the aim is to revive it through a recovery programme lasting until 2030.
