Savoy WORLD: The London African Gospel Choir: Graceland turns 40!

The year 2026 will mark the 40th anniversary of the release of Paul Simon’s album Graceland. This milestone in popular music will be celebrated with a unique concert at the Savoy Theatre as the world-renowned Anglo-African choir The London African Gospel Choir takes to the stage.

The original Graceland (1986) was a groundbreaking work that brought South African rhythms and township music to the attention of the general public, won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year and built a bridge between cultures. To mark the anniversary, The London African Gospel Choir will perform their own critically acclaimed and popular interpretation of the album.

The concert respects the spirit of the original work but brings the choir’s own colourful touch to the songs. The show will feature uplifting gospel arrangements accompanied by a six-piece band, powerful soloists and infectious energy. The setlist will include evergreen classics such as Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes, Homeless and You Can Call Me Al.
