Soiva Kallas (‘Kallas in Music’) – Stream of Sounds and Words

Nov 27, 2025 | 7:00 pm

Cultural Centre Caisa

Kaikukatu 4, 00530 Helsinki

Juha Hurme, Aleksi Parviainen and Marie Körkkö will bring the life and poems of Aino Kallas to life in a unique lecture concert.

The Hurme-Parviainen-Körkkö team will join forces again in this unique lecture concert, where Aino Kallas’ eventful life and poems full of power will come to life again in words and music.

Next year marks the 70th anniversary of Aino Kallas’ death. Kallas’ archaic language paradoxically brings the age-old themes of humanity to the present day. Furthermore, her strong experience of femininity makes the poems very universal.

The Soiva Kallas performance at Caisa will also be the world premiere of the song series.

Stream of Sounds and Words
Come and experience the deepest shades of art and music! Caisa’s new and unique concept combines music, poetry and storytelling into an inspiring whole in which sound and words merge and create a space for sensitisation, insights and emotional states.

The themes of the evenings focus on different dimensions of life, such as joy, sorrow, love and longing, and the connection between their flow and the listener. Each evening will also provide an opportunity for discussions in which the audience and the performers can share their thoughts, experiences and feelings regarding the evening’s themes. The discussions will open up new perspectives and deepen the audience’s connection with the stories and the emotions that they evoke.

Come and let the music and words resonate within you – together we will create a memorable evening that will touch your heart!
The evenings will be hosted by audiovisual artist and singer Oona Räyhäntausta.

A stream of sounds and words awaits you – reserve your place and be part of this profound art experience!
