Spring Break Festival
May 6 – 10, 2025
Turunlinnantie 1, 00900 Helsinki
Spring Break is a contemporary dance festival organized by Kinetic Orchestra dance company, centered around movement art.
In 2025, the festival will bring three different evenings to Cultural Centre Stoa.
The international guest piece “HITO” features choreographer-performers Akira Yoshida and Chey Jurado, presenting a depiction of finding and losing the right direction in life.
The co-production of Oskari Turpeinen and Kinetic Orchestra, “Block – Maybe We Go Out”, is a piece where dance, music, acrobatics, and theater blend together to portray a chaotic and anticipatory state. On stage, three friends float in their home, trying to block out what’s to come.
The festival will also showcase Jarkko Mandelin’s choreography “9” with Laajasalo Folk High School´s dance programme students, in a joint evening alongside solo “We Do This. We Don’t Talk.” performed by Samuli Emery.
