Duo Rio was formed when two professional musicians discovered their mutual love for Brazilian music. 

The mellow-toned vocalist Elina Kardén takes you on a journey to the golden days of bossa nova singing in Portuguese and she has also translated these beautiful lyrics into Finnish. 

Ville-Veikko Ijäs plays a nylon-string guitar reminiscent of the masters Tom Jobim and João Gilberto.

Duo Rio is at home in the many styles of Brazilian music like bossa nova, samba and MPB.
